These two lateral scrolls are for for swiping through and pairing trompe l'oeils from art and landscapes in transition.

Liguria is a region of north-western Italy with a karst landscape full of caves that sheltered people coming from Africa in ancient times. Genoa is its cultural center with palaces and churches full of frescoes by Genoese artists. These works capture a shift in the 1600's from traditional renaissance art, which was intellectually driven, to a Baroque style influenced by the counter-reformation of the Catholic Church wanting to appeal to popular audiences. For example, "The dome was one of the central symbolic features of Baroque architecture illustrating the union between the heavens and the earth." -wikipedia
