These images consist of certain media translated into fictional light and depth (paint and pixels). As renderings of overwhelming space, these sublime images co-opt a sense of horror, from the indifference that lie beyond our bounds, to simulate profoundness. This sensibility has historically served as a false testament to Manifest Destiny, which has been instrumental in the Western world’s self-righteous exploitation of environments and people.
